Welcome to my little world !!!

My name is Aruna and I live in Singapore with my husband, son and daughter.

For many years, all I knew was to bank on my banking knowledge and make customer delight my mantra, but over the years the usual pressures of jostling between my kids and keeping the house in order, delight-take-a-walk became my new mantra.

Days I spent in cold and dull London, did nothing but bring me down more than ever. From a zest-for-life approach to just-to-live, the shift was too much to handle and now I had to do something about it before it was too late. Then came the awakening, a lovely kitchen, the local farmers market with gorgeous fresh produce and shopping at Waitrose :)

I slowly started experimenting in different cuisines, some worked, some invited polite nays from the ones I tried it on. But new days new ways and new tastes became the new norm. And the world of food and the possibilities caught my attention like nothing else.

Soon we moved to Singapore. New home and new friends. And then a cake arrived in my home, baked by a friend, my kids loved it. Baking had always eluded me. And I decided to try again. The first cake I made and tested on my kids, was a resounding success.

What started as sharing of my recipes with my friends and families and improvisations to traditional ways of cooking, has now moved on to a more widely shareable platform.

Soul Food and More (SFM) is my attempt to share the joys of cooking and simple cross cultural recipes, both Indian and Global. As they say nothing like home food and nothing like a house party :)
